Multilingual Online Medical Consultation Pilot Service in Hachijojima

OHDr. is pleased to announce the launch of a pilot program for a multilingual online medical consultation service for inbound tourists, in collaboration with SOMPO Light Vortex Co., Ltd. and Hachijo View Hotel Co., Ltd. Starting July 11, 2025, this initiative will be conducted on Hachijojima Island, Tokyo.
This project utilizes the advanced remote medical solution “TytoCare” to provide online medical consultations in Japanese, English, and Chinese, ensuring safe and seamless access to healthcare from hotel accommodations.

◆ Overview of the Pilot Program
During the pilot period, guests staying at Hachijo View Hotel who feel unwell can rent the “TytoCare” device free of charge from the hotel and access OHDr.’s online medical consultation service. This allows them to receive multilingual medical consultations in the privacy of their rooms or other private spaces.
Please note that the consultation service itself is subject to a fee.
The “TytoCare” device enables not only video calls but also the collection and sharing of medical data such as heart and lung sounds, and images of the throat and eardrums. Physicians can review this information in real-time, providing a consultation experience closely resembling in-person visits.

◆ Features and Benefits of the Service
【For Tourists】
Have the consultation in your room; consultations available in your preferred language
High-quality medical experience for a safe and comfortable stay
【For Accommodation Providers】
Enhanced customer satisfaction by offering multilingual medical support
Reduced burden of arranging medical transport and interpretation services

◆ Future Developments
Based on the results of this pilot program, we will analyze guest needs and operational challenges to consider full-scale deployment and expansion to hotels nationwide.
We remain committed to creating a society where all inbound tourists can access medical care “anytime, anywhere, for anyone” with peace of mind.
