Regarding prescriptions, medications, and fees

Q.After an online consultation, how can I receive my medication or prescription?

Paper prescriptions are not issued for online consultations.
OHDr. will arrange pharmacy pickup or medication delivery.

Q.What medication pickup options are available? Which is the fastest option?

Paper prescriptions are not issued for online consultations.
OHDr. will arrange pharmacy pickup or medication delivery.

Medication delivery to your address:

Upfront payment is required using the payment link provided after your consultation. Once payment is confirmed, shipment will be arranged.

Standard delivery: approximately 2–3 business days.
Express delivery: available only in selected major cities. For consultations completed before 2:00 p.m., same-day delivery is generally available.

After completing payment for medication and shipping via the payment link, OHDr. will begin arranging the medication delivery.

For the fastest option, we recommend pharmacy pickup.

Pharmacy pickup near your location:
Medication pickup and fees (except that no paper prescription is required) follow the same process as visiting a physical clinic in Japan.

Arrangement usually takes about 1–2 hours depending on the type of medication and location.

OHDr. will confirm medication availability and pickup time with a nearby pharmacy before contacting you.

If you have a preferred pharmacy, we’ll do our best to arrange it.

※ Not all drugstores can dispense prescription medications. Only pharmacies with dispensing services can handle prescriptions. In many drugstores, the dispensing pharmacy section operates on shorter hours than the main store.

※ If nearby pharmacies are limited, or the consultation is late at night, or for special medications or pediatric medicines (especially liquid syrups), arrangements may take longer. In some cases, you may need to use a more distant pharmacy or collect the medication the next day.

Q.How many days’ worth of medication can be prescribed at one time? Is there an expiration date for prescriptions?

In Japan, prescriptions are valid for 3 days, including the consultation date. If you do not pick up your medication within 3 days, the prescription will expire.

If the prescription expires and you still require medication, you will need to book and pay for another consultation so the doctor can issue a new prescription.

Q.Can I receive a prescription for psychiatric medications? For example, sleeping pills.

Psychiatric medications are subject to various restrictions, and some medications cannot be prescribed through online consultations.

During your consultation, you can ask the doctor whether the medication you need can be prescribed, or whether a similar medication that is not classified as a psychiatric medication may be available.
